Our Doctors Are Mainly Offering TeleHealth Consultations.

Please advise us at least 2 hours prior to your appointment if your wish to cancel or cannot attend your consultation.

If 2 hours notice is NOT given, a fee of $40 will be charged – this applies to all appointments.

Change To Medicare – Bulk Billing Of TeleHealth

As of Monday 20th of July, Medicare has changed the rules regarding who can be bulk billed for a TeleHealth appointment.

Our Doctors can only offer bulk billing of a TeleHealth service when there is an existing relationship with the patient.

A patient must have seen the same practitioner for a face to face service in the last 12 months or has seen a doctor at the same practice for a face-to-face service during the same period.

Children aged under 12 months or those who are currently homeless are exempt.

If a patient cannot attend a face to face appointment, due to having a cold or flu symptoms, there will be a charge of $50 which is non-rebatable.

Everyone is encouraged to make ALL bookings online through HotDocs and Health Engine.

This includes those for flu injections, telephone consultations and video appointments.

If you DO NOT have a current Medicare card, this telephone triage service will cost $50.

For an outline of how telephone and video consultations will be conducted please see below. Bulk billing is available for all TeleHealth consultations.

If you have not been advised already to make a video consultation please call reception first to confirm if a telephone consultation would be more appropriate.

Telephone Consultations

  • Book online with HotDoc or HealthEngine

  • You will receive a confirmation email

  • An SMS reminder is sent the day before

  • Your doctor will call you at the booked time

Video Consultations

  • Book online with HotDoc or HealthEngine

  • You will receive a link to your video consultation in a confirmation email

  • Please click link within that email several minutes before your appointment

  • Confirm your formal consent for the video consultation to proceed

  • Wait in the virtual waiting room for your doctor to connect with you

  • Your doctor will connect your video consultation at the booked time

The doctor will finish the TeleHealth consultation. Should any other details be required you will be transferred to our reception staff.

After your doctor’s appointment…

Our reception staff will have referrals, certificates, scripts, radiology and pathology ready by the end of the day.

Any information you need will be emailed after the telephone consultation or video appointment to your email address we have on record.

If you need your email address updated please notify reception before the appointment day preferably by emailing reception@greenwaymedicalcentre.com.au

Radiology, imaging referrals /requests will be emailed to you or sent directly to the imaging provider.
If sent directly to the imaging provider you will still need to call the scan centre to book an appointment.

Medical certificates will be emailed to you.

Pathology referrals can be collected from reception or our reception staff can email for you to print.
